We are looking for a technical savvy Web Analyst. This role will be responsible for advanced implementations of Google Analytics, along with auditing and troubleshooting existing configurations. The role will also involve technical improvements to Sempeak tracking and analysis processes, liaising with clients directly on technical analytics projects and providing ongoing technical management of analytics accounts.


Project Planning

Identifying client objectives and mapping suitable analytics solutions, ensuring that all required performance data can be reliably tracked and reported. This may involve using analytics tools other than Google Analytics.

Leading the technical aspects of analytics projects, ensuring an integrated approach with other service teams


Producing technical audit reports for corrective or advanced Google Analytics implementation work

Writing up guide files for implementation work to the client’s development team

Creating periodical and ad-hoc client reports and dashboards by pulling data from various data sources

Performing ad-hoc analytics consultancies for clients and documenting the work

Reporting the CRO test results to the client and translate their business and marketing implications

Client focus

Delivering analytics audit reports to clients and presenting findings in person or via conference calls

Representing the Sempeak Web Analytics team in client meetings and pitch presentations, providing technical analytics input

Assisting in educating clients on the importance of online measurement & providing best practice guidance for technical aspects of analytics

Collaborate with client’s marketing team or Sempeak/3rd party PPC team to improve ad performance (e.g. creating new audiences for remarketing, measuring offline conversions in advertising platforms)

(If ever necessary) providing training to clients ranging from product training for marketing teams to implementation training for technical teams

Analytical and Technical

Providing consultancy on campaign tagging and additional on-site tracking

Setting up technical implementation guides to gather the necessary data and manage the tags on the client website with Google Tag Manager

Working with client or 3rd party technical teams for analytics implementation work

Verifying the collected data and request modifications and improvements if necessary

Developing measurement strategies for better data analysis

Spotting potential to implement innovative new methodologies and improve analytical processes

Using available data sources to deep dive and troubleshoot tracking and measurement issues

Testing Processes

Creating hypotheses for different pages, points in the funnel and segments from the collected data and testing those hypotheses with A/B and split tests

Designing (or guiding the designs) and/or implementation of the conversion optimization tests

QC-checking variations prior to tests and observing for potential problems during the tests

Forming new hypotheses based on the test results and newly-collected data and iterating new tests


Working closely with the commercial and delivery teams to identify and explore opportunities for advanced analytics work

Collaborating with the Performance Marketing team for multi-disciplined project work

Collaborating with the search and social teams to troubleshoot and enhance client reporting and performance measurement through robust analytics implementations


At least 1 year of experience in a web analytics and/or conversion optimization position

Bachelor’s degree, preferably from a relevant field like Statistics, Engineering, Software Dev. etc.

Excellent working knowledge Google Analytics, including both implementation and analyses

Preferably some experience of working with other analytical software like Yandex Metrica, Mixpanel, Firebase, Hotjar etc.

Literacy of web technologies like HTML, JS and CSS. (You will at least need to be able to read and edit other’s code, more is preferred)

Understanding of the technical aspects of web analytics & conversion optimization

Experience of gathering and understanding technical client requirements and designing suitable technical solutions

Experience of working with Google Tag Manager, applying advanced implementations

Knowledge of one or more testing platforms (VWO, Google Optimize, Optimizely etc)

Experience with Adwords and other paid platforms is a plus.
